On Your Wedding Day!!

Being father of the groom - I rise for a toast

But first I’ll expound - Though I’ll try not to boast

This marriage is special - As all marriages are

For they met in kindergarten - Before either of them had a car!!

It heated up at age seven - Where else, but second grade

They went to a movie together - I suppose we parents must have paid

And pray tell, what movie - This puts my mind to the test

But I think I recall it - Yes it was "Fivel Go’s West"!!

In fourth grade Josh moved away - The love story came to an end

He lived with his mother in Houston - Not knowing what destiny might send

Now let’s all fast forward - It’s April of 1998

Josh comes back to Idaho - And runs into Angie, while out on a date!!

They’re instantly reunited - And suddenly we’ve a marriage to plan

Apparently the sparks still burned - Since grade school where they began

They do have much in common - Some of which I’ll explain

Such as Josh being a bodybuilder - And Angie’s aversion to pain!!

She is toning up her body - Which is easy for all to see

Her gym teacher would be impressed - Since he failed her in PE

Josh has joined the Air Force - And his training has come to an end

He’s now an Air Traffic Controller - So with stress he’ll have to contend!!

Josh you know has an idol - Yes, Superman, of TV fame

And kryptonite was his demise - Which is now Angie’s nickname

She also got him addicted - Now don’t get too upset

The addiction is to chocolate - And no one has died from it yet!!

Yes, there are a million stories - And most end with a laugh

Like changing tires in the rain - Or hiding eggs on the Easter Bunny’s behalf

And buying special food - That only body builders eat

Or overeating at Shrimp Buffet’s - Make this relationship quite complete!!

So you see it’s quite apparent - Great fun these two will share

Their’s is a love so special - Some might call it rare

So with a tear in my eye - I toast the new bride and groom

Let’s all raise our glasses - Each of us in this room!!
