A Toast To Christy & Doug!

From Your Brother Robbie

As brother of the groom - Please let me begin

Though I didn’t graduate from Colgate - I don’t feel it was a sin

Both families are quite happy - And shouldn’t they feel that way

An Italian marrying an Italian - Kind of remarkable, wouldn’t you say!!

Now Doug is my little brother - Though to look, it doesn’t seem true

He wasn’t always known as Mr. Happy - But Christy changed that point of view

But let me paint this picture - So my brother, you’ll all know

After all it is his wedding day - And it’s nice to see him glow!!

Back before our Christy - Met Doug skiing in Vermont

The staff had a little nickname - Something you wouldn’t want

He was known as an "AYM" - And then Christy did arrive

And soon that "Angry Young Man" - Really started to thrive!!

Now being a number’s cruncher - Doesn’t tend to make one laugh

And brother Doug took it seriously - Just ask anyone on the staff

Like one time in a memo - An "h" was added to his name

Now Doug is known as "Dough" - And to some, that’s who he became!!

Now Doug and his buddies at Colgate - Are close and proud as can be

Some would say they are cliquey - But you didn’t hear that from me

And out on the golf course - Where competitive juices tend to flow

He’s been known to whip a club and sulk - That’s our boy Dough!!

To say Doug is mechanically impaired - Is something I’d like to make clear

He once jacked up the front end of his car - When the flat was in the rear

And if any of you have noticed - His eyes do tend to squint

And he’s always running into things - Does that kinda give you a hint?!!

Though I’m the older brother - I do look up to Doug

That’s because he’s taller, not smarter - Thought I’d give myself a plug

But Christy, you add so much - You, whom our family adore

We welcome you with open arms - And understand Doug’s allure!!

Now that I’ve had my fun - There’s business left to do

Christy and Doug, I love you both - And here’s a toast to you

I’d ask everyone right now - To raise their glass to the bride and groom

A Salute to Christy and Doug - From each of us in this room!!
