A Master’s Degree from Stanford - While working full-time

But IBM is the winner - Up their ladder I’m sure you’ll climb!!

I remember you as a kid - At about age twenty-two

Thin, bright eyed and happy - So naive, without a clue

And remember "89" - Toastmasters were you and I

Then the earthquake came through - And I thought we would die!!

We jumped under a desk - Not knowing if the end was near

Me muttering, "Oh My, Oh My" - Both of us full of fear

And remember it was me - Who helped you and Teresa connect

By getting you to join the Jaycees - Okay, maybe it was indirect!!

Then there was the time at the movie - Four of us having fun

Suddenly there’s a blackout - Before it had really begun

But friendship is also memories - Even when things go awry

Those events that only become funny - After time passes by!!

Now that you have your Master’s - No more studying night and day

Teresa can cut back on Jazzercize - Hey, Teresa, whaddaya say!!

I know you want a family - And great parents you’ll both be

So you better get moving - The clock is ticking, can’t you see!!

And now for your favorite subject - Oh Carl, come on, you know

Of course it’s Chevy’s restaurant - The place you love to go!!

Greg and I enjoy it - Celebrating birthdays with both of you

Even the competition - Of who can outdo who!!

So Carl to sum it all up - I just want you to know

Each of us here is quite impressed - Watching you as you grow

And we know it isn’t over - You’re a winner through and through

Because you’re focused and hard working - You succeed at what you do!!
