A Toast To Robin & John

I rise for a toast - But first let me review

It will give you a sense - When you look at these two

Robin and John - You were meant to be wed

You’re two peas in a pod - But more light I must shed!!

John, listen please - Some words of advice

When you rush into things - You pay a large price

As when you and Robin asked - Would you please keep our dog

It will be just for awhile - I must have been in a fog!!

You saw people all over - Walking their mutt

So you immediately got one - This case is open and shut

Not only would he grow - Into something quite large

Dogs aren’t allowed in your condo - By the people in charge

For now he’s full grown - And as big as a car

He goes crazy when you visit - Since he remembers who you are

And how about your ability - To make a statement quite loud

Without even speaking - And oh, you’re so proud!!

You just don a T-Shirt - With your own special phrase

"Welcome to New Jersey" - Delivered like a praise

"Now Go Home" is your follow-up - With no sense of guilt

And that’s only one - In the wardrobe you’ve built!!

And I might as well tell you - John, you’re quite a lucky guy

You and Robin are perfect - And here’s the reason why

You have fun with each other - And you’re both in your prime

And isn’t life adventurous - With each new paradigm!!

So I raise up my glass - With a smile in my heart

For Robin and John - And the journey you’ll start

Your love is beautiful - May it continue to grow

And fifty years from now - I hope, you’ll still have that glow!!
