Each of us have a God given gift that not everyone
finds. Some find the gift later in life and the fortunate few, know
what it is almost immediately. They are truly the lucky ones.
You
know youve found your gift, when it is the only thing that
really truly keeps your interest. When your performing your gift,
the time flies by and youre having fun.
I found my gift later on in life, and I found it quite by accident.
I was messing around and decided to write a rhyme for my wifes
aunt, who was in a nursing home. It seemed kinda easy to do at the
time. I still didnt write my second rhyme for at least another
six months.
Then I wrote a rhyme for my wifes birthday. It was seven verses
long and when I read it to her, she cried, because I was able to
capture in rhyme what I couldnt say just talking to her. Thats
when I realized that maybe I had found something. For the next couple
of years, I would write poems for different people as gifts and
the rest just slowly evolved.
The secret to writing poems for me is capturing the feelings in
rhyme of what the sender tells me about the subject. That also is
the fun of writing rhyme. I know Ive achieved it when the
person the poem is written about or the sender laughs or cries.
There are so many things that should be said between people and
I feel honored to be the communicator that translates it for them.
