To Our Wonderful Children!!

We’re finally melding families - And a tribute we’d like to pay

To all of our children - On this, our special day

You’ve made it so easy - And that’s not always the case

When two families come together - To live in just one space!!

To Sarah, our beautiful daughter - Who sometimes I call Fred

You sleepwalk at night - And end up beside my bed

I’ve never had a little girl - And you’re really quite a prize

Dressed up so pretty – You look so ladylike and wise!!

Sometimes you’re a little bossy -With your nose stuck in a book

The boys call you the "Librarian" - Actually, that’s not a bad hook

But you know what I call you – And it’s not behind your back

Because you love to talk so much – You’re my very own Yakkity Yak!!

And now on to Chad - Our very oldest son

A fan of professional wrestling - And a very, very cool one

You love a drama - And with you, there’s nothing shy

When you’re the center of attention - You are one very happy guy!!

Chad, you’re fun to be with – Especially talking, just you and me

You make me feel so special – And I know a great lawyer you’ll be

You love to torment your siblings – On that there’s no debate

We were proud at your Bar Mitzvah – Chad, you really were great!!

And then there’s Josh - Our quiet and shy second son

You’re such a wonderful person - And liked by everyone

There’s a love you have for the piano – At recitals, you’re quite a star

You’ve a natural gift for music – Should you choose, you’ll go far!!

Josh, you’re a natural teacher – Helping Sarah and Sam at night

Maybe it’s homework or Nintendo – But, you always get it right

Sometimes you’ll just disappear – Maybe going off to draw

You’re such a special young man - I sometimes look at you in awe!!

Then we have our Toughy - Sam, you’re quite a guy

A bull in a china closet - But inside you’re kinda shy

Who would know from looking – The damage you could do

The hardest head in Florida – And Sam, it belongs to you!!

Sam, I really love it – In the Summer time with you

With the other kids gone at camp – We have our own special rendezvous

You’re our little athlete - And there’s nothing you won’t eat

Meal-time is very special - Feeding you is quite a treat!!

I thank you for accepting me – Three boys that I adore

And Sarah, I love you so much – I couldn’t ask for more

We’d like each of you to know - How blessed both of us feel

But also how excited we are - With a family so ideal!!

And to Carolyn, Gerry and Marilyn – Those special parents of mine

Thank you for your generosity - Accompanied with love so divine

And finally to Buddy and Dorothy - Thanks for all you’ve done

And being there when needed - I’m so proud to be your son!!

On this our special day - With each of you, we wanted to share

It was our way to show you - How much we love you and care

So let’s go on with the party - We want everyone to have fun
